Foothill So.Cal. was started in 1983 by John Conrad Brian Bouris two high school friends. The club started having meetings in GLENDORA at the corner of FOOTHILL Blvd and GRAND Ave, in the NAUGLES (now DELTACO) restaraunt. The club constied of only mini trucks and one camero. The first year the club grew from 3 members (after INTENSE recruiting) to 15 members in a matter of three weeks. After joining the S.C.M.T.C. (Southern California Mini Truck Council) the club embarked on its long journey of truck shows, cruise nights and ralleys, along with the 3 DAY EVENTS. Thanks to Donald davis (Tiny) and Bob Hase (Sunset Truckers) for getting us to our FIRST ever 3 day event RESOLUTIONS 83 We were all hooked solid. Even though at this time we were a small and new club they treated us like veterns. After a few years of going to event,s and gaining respect from some of the Older and wiser clubs (SUNSET, FLEETWOOD, FAIR WARNING, SLO RYDE, SIN CITY MINIS)just to name a few we began to grow and grow. In 1988 we held our first ever show and it was a success 250 vehicles enterd the event. Buy 1989 we had grown into a very large club, 55 members strong in the Glendora/Covina area. In 1990/91 FOOTHILL had grown to 14 chapters in california and 6 chapters outside of california. We had close to 230
members. Well shit happens as they say and shure enough (as i was told buy many many people Bob Hase, Tiny, and a few other people) thats going to be the downfall of your club as it is TOO big. Well shure enough in the middle of 1991 the club and droped down to about 20 members and almost went out of existance. In 1991/92 we had 5 origianl members left and it was hard to recruit new members for they all saw the CRASH AND BURN of FOOTHILL. In 1993 the club all but existed, Surving on minimal membership (3 to 5 members) no meetings just a call to each other to see if you wanted to go to an occasinal event here and their for the next 6 1/2 years. In 1999 the club resurface in full force with new members plus 6 origianl members back from wherever they where and a few die hards to keep the club going into the next decade or so. Well thats how we survied all these years on the GOOD time and the BAD.
